Sara Carney

Sara Carney was a standout student-athlete and team leader at Roger Williams University, where she played four seasons of NCAA Division III field hockey. A driven and disciplined competitor, Sara capped off her collegiate career as a senior captain in 2024, leading the Hawks to their first-ever Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance—cementing her legacy in program history. She excelled both academically and athletically at Roger Williams University. She played in a total of 77 games starting in 66. She was a consistent presence on the CCC Fall Academic All Conference team as well as the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad from 2021 – 2024. Since graduating from Roger Williams University, Sara has joined the Army as a first officer and is currently awaiting her job orders.
