Kim Carney

bio
Kim Carney is a former NCAA Division I field hockey player from the University of New Hampshire and brings decades of experience, passion, and leadership to both the sport and her professional career. She is one of the original founders and owners of Premier Field Hockey Club, which she established alongside Carrie Wernig to create competitive opportunities for their daughters—and has since grown into a thriving program supporting multiple U10, U12, U14, U16, and U19 teams.
Kim holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and currently serves as the Deputy Director of Franklin Recreation. She is a Certified Youth Sports Administrator, dedicated to developing inclusive, high-quality athletic programming for youth in her community and beyond.
In addition to her work with Premier, Kim is the administrator of the Commonwealth Field Hockey League—a developmental league in Massachusetts that now serves over 140 teams across four age levels. Her tireless work to grow the sport was recognized in 2024 with a special citation from the Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association for her outstanding contributions to field hockey in the Commonwealth.
Kim is also a proud mom of three daughters—Sara, Kaitlyn, and Emily—all of whom have continued their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Sara plays field hockey at Roger Williams University, Kaitlyn plays lacrosse at James Madison University, and Emily plays field hockey at Fairfield University. When not coaching or organizing leagues, Kim can almost always be found on the sidelines cheering them on. She is a builder of programs, a champion for youth athletes, and a leader who continues to shape the future of field hockey in New England.
